Senior Building Designer | Team Leader


StruXi Design is currently looking for a Senior Building Designer to join our team.  Our office is located in the Toowoomba CBD.  We undertake projects primarily in South West Queensland for a diverse range of Clients.  This is a full-time position based in Toowoomba.  The successful applicant will have a hands-on role, leading commercial and industrial projects within our office, which will include management of clients, consultants, regulatory authorities and staff.

Toowoomba is a flourishing city with the heart of a small town.  It is expected to be one of the fastest growing regional areas in Australia between 2013-2031.  It has the perfect combination of inner-city living, surrounded by a beautiful countryside.  There is a great dining scene, with lots of trendy cafés, pubs and restaurant’s. It is fondly known as the garden city, with over 150 beautiful parks, and home to the annual Carnival of Flowers.  There are also mountain bike tracks, a multitude of sporting clubs, nature hikes and bushwalks.  Toowoomba also boasts some of the finest public and private schools in Queensland together with our own Southern Queensland University. 

Our office is located in the recently redeveloped Longs Quarter, in the heart of the CBD.  When we moved to our new office, it was a goal of ours to create an environment to last.  Our open office is filled with ample storage, greenery and natural light.  A place that our staff, Client’s and consultants all enjoy coming to.

•Lead the project team.

•Develop new business opportunities.

•Carry out preliminary project design and documentation.

•Provide support and guidance to other staff.

•Documentation review and coordination.


Essential Skills:

•Possess a very high level of presentation skills applicable to both concept design and project documentation.

•Creatively problem solve to provide value to our Clients.

•Relevant qualifications and/ or experience to be able to hold a minimum QBCC Medium Rise Design Licence.

•Minimum 10 years’ experience with not less than 3 years’ experience in a leadership role.

•Exceptional understanding and implementation of the NCC and relevant reference standards.
