Our Client already had an established medical practice located on this site and had acquired the adjacent property with a view to expanding their practice. Early in the design phase the decision was made to design and construct a brand new facility which doubled the size of the existing practice, provided better facilities for staff, patients and trainees and had the added benefit of providing an opportunity for allied health professionals to co-locate, which further enhanced the service delivery of the practice.
The design included staging considerations to ensure the existing practice could continue to operate until such time as the new premises were ready to occupy.
The completed project is a testament to how the Clients and the design team worked together to bring this project to life. The gorgeous bright and airy practice is a pleasure to visit and provides patients with a welcoming space where they can wait with plenty of room and even a kids play corner.
Our Client already had an established medical practice located on the site and had acquired the adjacent property with a view to expanding their business. The existing premises was a converted house which was nearing the end of its useful life and provided minimal opportunity for expansion.
After much thought, the decision was made to design and construct a new facility which would double the size of the practice, provide better facilities for staff and patients and have the added benefit of providing opportunity for allied professionals to co-locate, further enhancing the service delivery and improving the return on investment for our Client.
The focus of this interior was to create a space that is welcoming and homely for both patients and staff, instead of the sometimes cold and clinical feel that medical practices can have. Each space throughout the building was individually assessed to deliver the relaxed and comforting vision that had been a pre-requisite for our clients. Warm natural finishes were used with pops of crisp green tones to create points of focus and freshness. This cool crisp green tone creates an environment to enhance healing and well-being which is the main aspect of the business. Particular finishes were repeated throughout the interior to develop the sense of place within the building.
